University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital is on our Minneapolis campus. The hospital has a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit which provides the highest level of neonatal intensive care available. Maternal-fetal medicine patients who receive care at our Edina and Burnsville locations also have access to these services.
Our Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists are board certified in maternal-fetal medicine. In addition, our maternal-fetal medicine team has one of the only physicians in Minnesota who is dually trained in maternal-fetal medicine and clinical genetics; there are fewer than 100 such physicians nationwide. Our Maternal- Fetal Medicine Centers are part of the University of Minnesota National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health, which serves as a national model to provide innovative, comprehensive and interdisciplinary care for women.
We often collaborate with the following specialists on patients’ care:
- Echocardiographers
- Genetic counselors
- Neonatologists
- Pediatric subspecialists, including cardiologists, urologists and neurosurgeons
- Registered nurses
- Ultrasonographers
