Lung transplant success rates
Survival rates for lung transplant patients are tracked nationally by the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients.
To help you understand these rates, keep in mind that other centers may have high success rates in part because they don’t accept highly challenging transplant cases. Patients who come to University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview, for a lung transplant often are high-risk, very ill patients, who were unable to get a lung transplant at another center.
| Adult lung transplant patient survival rates | 1 month (July 2008 - December 2010) | 1 year (July 2008 - December 2010) | 3 years (January 2006 - June 2008) |
| University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview | 96.49% | 88.55% | 80.23% |
| Nationwide | 96.18% | 84.49% | 66.64% |
