Head and neck cancer includes all the malignant tumors occurring on the head and neck -- including the mouth, nose, eyes and ears. It covers many types of cancer and the incidence varies for each site. For example, oral cavity cancer accounts for about 3 percent 2012-13_USNews_UMMC_Cancer badgeof all new cancers, but larynx cancer accounts for only about 1 percent in Minnesota.

The Head and Neck Cancer Program at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview, offers its patients multidisciplinary, comprehensive, high-quality treatment and care in a central location. Our team of head and neck specialists designs a treatment plan for each patient with respect for the needs of both the patient and family. The overall goal is to achieve a positive impact on the patient's quality of life and long-term survival.
