Debra Lafontaine
Sleep Study: June 2006
Debra was diagnosed and treated for cervical cancer at University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview in December 2004. During that time, she and her physician discussed Debra's sleep difficulties and she was referred to the Sleep Center for a sleep study.
Debra's sleep study revealed she had profound sleep apnea. She now had an explanation for teeth grinding, constantly taking naps and thinking she was depressed.
Today, using continuous positive air pressure (CPAP), Debra wakes up with more energy and never takes naps. Debra says the CPAP saved her life. She feels as if the Medical Center has given her two second chances at life: successful treatment of her cervical cancer and a return to restorative sleep.
