Meet Our Team

All of our physicians are board certified in pain medicine. Our team also includes nurse care coordinators and psychologists, as well as behavioral, physical and exercise therapists.

Provider
The physician or nurse practitioner is trained to assess, diagnose and recommend treatment. As apart of an interdisciplinary team, the provider will help the patient understand diagnosis, review tests and treatment options, make medication recommendations, and coordinate care with primary care clinicians.

Health Psychologist (Behavioral Therapist)
Patients may participate in an evaluation with a health psychologist to help identify psychophysiologic contributors to pain. The role of the health psychologist is:

  • to increase effective stress management and relaxation skills.
  • improve coping strategies for daily living:
    • family
    • marriage
    • relationships
    • work
    • health and related factors
  • reduce barriers to learning self-care management techniques.
  • improve awareness of contributing factors in increased pain.

This training will help you develop skill to more effectively relax your body and calm your mind, reduce worry, improve your mood, and manage the stresses of daily living without increasing your pain.

Physical Therapist
Physical therapists and exercise therapists will teach simple, therapeutic exercises to help gently stretch and relax your muscles. These exercises reduce and prevent pain brought on by tight, tense muscles. Additionally the patient will learn other measures to manage pain, including posture improvement and self-care techniques.
