The Muscular Dystrophy Center’s expert care team can often slow the disease with medical management (steroids) and manage its symptoms with:

  • Orthopaedic devices
  • Orthopedic surgery
  • Physical therapy and exercise

Based on your individual treatment plan, you may have the opportunity to work with:

  • Genetic counselors
  • Neurologists
  • Nurse clinicians
  • Occupational therapists
  • Physical therapists
  • Speech therapists

There is currently no cure or treatment to halt the progression of muscular dystrophy, however recent research on gene and molecular therapy is creating new possibilities. Our muscular dystrophy care team will keep you abreast of the latest in MD findings and treatments.
