Direct Services
Direct Services are provided to patients, employees and community members who are or have been in an abusive relationship. We can help you:
- Understand the domestic abuse cycle
- Explore relationship issues
- Determine how domestic abuse could be affecting you
- Determine how sexual assault or rape could be affecting you
- Receive support
- Recognize and decrease isolation
- Create a safety plan
- Identify & prioritize your options
- Connect with community services
- Contact legal organizations to become aware of your legal rights
- Know how to obtain an order for protection or a harassment order
Group Work
Group Work is offered within the hospital (mental health and chemical dependency units, for example) to provide education, support and advocacy. Training and education is offered within the hospital and community to increase awareness of domestic abuse issues. We can help you:
- Understand the dynamics of abuse
- Understand the effects of abuse
- Recognize signs of domestic abuse in your clients/patients
- Screen for domestic abuse
- Document domestic abuse
- Make referrals to FDAS
