New President Joins University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview
We are pleased to announce that Carolyn Wilson has joined our Fairview team as President of University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview. As of Nov. 1, Carolyn has retained direct oversight and operational accountability for our integrated clinical service lines.
Carolyn has nearly 30 years of health care experience ranging from direct patient care positions to strategic leadership roles. Most recently she served as Chief Operating Officer and Associate Dean at University of Chicago Medical Center, where she held a variety of leadership roles over the last 13 years. Carolyn’s professional background also includes community hospital and nursing home experience, as well as a year as a staff nurse with the National Institute of Health.
As president of the medical center, Carolyn will be a member of Fairview’s Senior Executive Team and will be instrumental in advancing our collective mission, vision and strategic plan. Active engagement and partnership with the leadership of University of Minnesota Physicians will continue to be critical to our ability to create a world-class academic medical center.
