MINNEAPOLIS (July 16, 2009)— University of Minnesota Medical Center is ranked among the best in the nation for providing exceptional care, according to the 2009 survey by U.S. News & World Report.
University of Minnesota Medical Center is ranked in the top 50 in eight of the report’s specialties:
• Kidney disorder (22)
• Ear, nose and throat (29)
• Digestive disorder (29)
• Cancer (34)
• Diabetes and endocrine disorders (34)
• Urology (42)
• Respiratory disorders (48)
• Gynecology (48)
The rankings measure reputation, outcomes and other care-related factors like advanced technology and affiliation with a medical school.
In June, U. S. News & World Report also ranked University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital among the nation’s top children’s hospitals in three medical specialties: cancer treatment, diabetes and endocrine disorders, and kidney disorder treatment.
