At the Genetics Eye Clinic, our expert team of medical geneticists, genetic counselors, ophthalmologists and orthoptists evaluate both adult and pediatric patients with known or suspected genetic conditions that affect the eye. Conditions commonly evaluated and managed include retinitis pigmentosa, cone rod dystrophy, early onset glaucoma, retinal detachment, early onset vision loss, early onset myopia, aniridia, coloboma, and albinism.
Our genetic counselor gathers family medical history, facilitates genetic testing, and provides information and support to patients and their families. All members of the team work together to provide quality care and comprehensive information to our patients and their families.
